How long does a residential solar installation take?+
A typical residential rooftop installation (3–10 kW) takes 2–4 working days. This includes mounting structure fabrication, panel and inverter installation, and DC/AC wiring. Net metering registration with your DISCOM may take an additional 4–8 weeks depending on the utility. We manage the entire process for you.
Am I eligible for the PM Surya Ghar Yojana subsidy?+
The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana provides subsidies for residential rooftop solar installations. Eligibility criteria include: (1) you must be a residential electricity consumer, (2) the installation must be on your own premises, (3) the system must be installed by an MNRE-empanelled vendor like Surya Volt. Subsidy amounts are estimated at up to 40% for systems up to 3 kW, up to 25% for 3–10 kW systems, and 10% for larger systems — based on current scheme guidelines, subject to change.
What is net metering and how does it benefit me?+
Net metering allows you to export surplus solar energy to the grid and earn credits on your electricity bill. When your solar system generates more electricity than you consume, the excess goes to the grid and your DISCOM credits you at a pre-determined rate. This means your meter effectively 'runs backwards' during peak generation hours, significantly reducing or even eliminating your monthly bill. Surya Volt handles the complete DISCOM net metering registration process.
What warranty comes with a Surya Volt installation?+
Your Surya Volt system comes with: (1) 30-year linear performance warranty on solar panels (minimum 80% output guaranteed at year 30), (2) 5–10 year manufacturer warranty on inverters (varies by brand), (3) 1-year installation workmanship warranty from Surya Volt. Our Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) is available for continued support, panel cleaning, and inverter health checks beyond the initial warranty period.
Are there EMI or financing options available?+
Yes. Surya Volt partners with leading banks and NBFCs to offer solar loans with competitive interest rates and tenures up to 7 years. In select cases, 0% EMI options are available in partnership with DISCOM-linked schemes. Our finance team will assess your profile and recommend the best financing option — our goal is to make solar financially accessible to every household.
